1. Writing, Editing, and Reviewing a Scientific Paper for Publication
This online course is appropriate for post-graduate students in a broad range of medical education fields (MD, MPH, DrPH; residents in primary care and preventive medicine). Course objectives, course outline, and an Instructor’s Manual are available below. The manual includes pricing information for the course.
The ten video sessions included in the course are augmented with two hands-on sessions in which the learner is presented with a set of papers to practice the peer-review process, monitored by responsible faculty.
You can find more information concerning the course below.
2. Journal Editor Training
With over 30 years of experience as a medical editor, I am able to provide an educational opportunity for those health professionals who are interested in becoming editors, or for those newly in an editing position (Editors-in-Chief or Managing Editors). I am currently in the process of developing a 2-day intensive formal program (with other editors). Please let me know if you would be interested in attending such a session.
I have recently retired after 20 years as Managing Editor of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. Those years gave me great insight into the process of writing and editing for publication, and now allow me to share that knowledge with others as a consultant.
